Eye Level to a Bulldog: The Amazing Grace (Isaiah 42:1-7)
Isaiah 42: 6-7 (NLT)
“I, the Lord, have called you to demonstrate my righteousness. I will take you by the hand and guard youm and I will give you to my people, Israel, as a symbol of my convenat with them. And you will be releasing those who sit in dark dungeons.”
Personally, i like today devo’s topic. It’s tell us about the amazing present, amazing grace that God gave us. It’s an unseen present, i can’t find good word or sentence to refers it.
Maybe we can take an easy example. If we have dog at home, and we want to play with them closely, we must get down at the ground, in the same level with them. We can’t enjoy with them and they also can’t enjoy with us if we still stand in our position, not same with them.
God know about this concept. Since our first parents sinned and hid from God’s presence, our tendency has been to be afraid of coming to the High and Holy God in His terms (ref. Luke 3:20). But, God make it possible! He take our fear away and show His spectacular love for us. The Creator, the Highly One, came to us by adopting a form of a lowly servant (based on Isaiah’s prediction). He take us out from the cover of our spiritual darkness (Isaiah 42:7) and call us His bestfriend (John 15:15). See, how lovely we are in His sight!
Maybe we asked, “why The Lord do that for me?”
We just can find one reason: because the Lord very-very-very-very love us. Because of His love, He “gave His one and only son... (John 3:16, NLT)”; He “made Christ, who never sinned, to be offering for our sin... (II Cor 5:21, NLT)” and also He put the Highly and Holy One to the meck and lowly One.
Jesus, the King of all kings, left His own kingdom and majesty, put Himself in the same level with the sinful human to change them as His bestfriend. So, let us thankful for this amazing grace by giving all parts of our daily life as the Lord’s servant. We can come to His presence every time we want, so let us build a harmony relation with Him. He call us bestfriend, how can we still be afraid to trust Him?
